XLIII Moto-Gourmet, Prades.

Un año más se ha llevado a cabo el encuentro que todos los años reune a socios y simpatizantes del Moto Automóvil Club de Reus, sin duda alguna y por otro año consecutivo el día transcurrió entre amigos del enduro, moto y auto tanto de nuestros días como clásicos.

2013 NEW BMW R 1200 GS LC STATIC & DETAILS


Well, now we are here to give you are my first impressions of my new bike after 1200 km ...





In the first 500 km and according owner manual I have not ride above 5000 rpm or 140km / h in 6th gear, enough for enjoy a new bike.

From the 500 km have been rising gradually until 6000 rpm ... about 170km / h in 6th gear ... 3000 rpm there are still till the top ... I think the bike reached the 230km / h at full throttle more or less ... that's what I suspect.

The engine is completely new ... not only in concept if not also in performance... delivery is always linear regardless of the driving mode (Rain, Dynamic, Road, Enduro and Enduro-Pro) ... there are no bumps ... that simple.

The engine has gained much in middle and high ... but I think it has lost a bit low and indeed in some situations this bike doesn´t works as oil GS just at low rates (situations where before the bike came out with no problem).

The engine is very long and retains less ... if we add the more power is sometimes easy to get overspeed arriving at curves that had controlled before ... even so the bike is easily controllable but I have to say I was expecting something more in the braking power.





Overall the bike exudes more quality than its predecessor ... bolts, adjustments, wiring, no flanges, cluster, etc. ... high quality in materials definitelly.





The cluster needs a good dose of entertainment ... even though my unit does not incorporate the onboard computer pro ... from pushbuttons keys left can display different fields ... Two trips, odometer, autonomy, and Setup menu depending on the installed options you can change various options.





Enable or disable the alarm (thus disappears the remote control) ... for me is a mistake because you could disable the alarm command to mount quickly load or anything else ... now connects automatically after 30 seconds and if you touch something, it sounds... to change the alarm settings is necessary to go through the dealer, before the command and a series of orders you could configure it to your liking ... I said, for me a problem.

The ECO option Shift ... activating this feature from the setup menu appear a sign in the box to shift gears and fuel economy ... I've tried in the first km and I got half of 4.3 liters per 100 ... So if slow, slow ...legal rate.
The function Dlight ... automatic lighting means ... the alternating automatic motorbike for daylight and low beam ... when entering tunnels, at dusk or in adverse driving (lots of rain) automatically turns the beam.
Now at the bottom of the table there are other indicators ... outside temperature, rdc (in option), consumption (ranging between 4.3 and 5.2 using Shift ECO traveling duo) ...motor temperature is shown in degrees Celsius ... Normal operating temperature is around 85 degrees and the fan starts to reach 99 ° down to 94 ° once the action is completed the same ... not send any heat addition to the legs.





The pushbuttons left gives us a lot of work ... and  my bike has no GPS or no preparation for ESA ... but still have job ... to me absolutely essential discovery is speed control that permit your hand rest,can go up and down the screen more comfortably or even adjust the rear shock preload now has a generous area to access it and regulate it (has a large regulation preload and 10 hydraulic points) .





Once the trigger is removed, the control pin is free ... Just tap accelerate and rest, adjust the monitor or regulate the rear suspension ... can increase the speed by briefly touching the pin forward (up 2km / h) and backward (low 2km / h) ... holding down increases or decreases the speed gradually ... if you touch the brake and playing off pin backwards wore regains speed before touching the brake ... excellent really.





Returning to the subject of the shocks, I don´t like the front shock because does not have any kind of regulation or hydraulic or preload, but it works very well and gives very many safety at all times (rain, dry alone or duo), and BMW says this telelever sinks to 80% less than the previous.





As for the cardan, very high quality construction, including depression valve groups incorporated at last oil series though have concealed much ... have to look good to locate it.







Under the passenger seat which is adjustable horizontally are onboard tools (few but very useful) and a small glove box in which to put his wallet, mobile or small tool box.





The manually adjustable screen ( for simplicity mechanics) protects very well, by that I mean it could be better ... but never to the effectiveness of Adventure, but accurate and reliable regulation with knob purpose.





The daylight works great in automatic mode and its use will contribute to the longevity of halogen bulbs, in this regard I have to say that the bike lights now very well both.





Quality everywhere ... spoke wheels and exhaust are topped by polished metal that give it a very sporty touch.





The display for controlling coolant level is well camouflaged on the side where is the fan and above all ...





Definitelly now, the design of the ignition key is good, a detail in polished steel, with a second key delivered fully rubber grip. The seat now is very comfortable.





My bike already came with the chip to activate the Enduro-Pro (located under the seat) that I have not tried yet ... until I reach the defenses.





In a deeper analysis I found some "bugs" ... Left pushbuttons is finished in the cables not very good there are a pair of wires in the air but could have solved with a small cap.

It will be necessary to put tank pads on the sides of the tank, paint tends to be damaged.

In everything else the bike is far superior ... handling, stability, quality of manufacture, consumption, accessories, power maps, lighting, comfort, ergonomics, protection ... etc. etc. ... I am very satisfied with the economic outlay to me change.
